  • The next Soophie baby is en route—Mikael and Sally Wood are pregnant! Congratulations!
  • I’m in a new band with Mike Lierly (Soophie, Tem Eyos Ki, Divorce Chord), Hannah Jones (Ghost Mice, Beyond Things), Jared Isenbarger (Morrow, Dead Letter Auction), and Mike Harpring (Good Luck) called Universe. We’ll be playing our first shows in March, recording a 12” over the spring, and touring the US in August!
  • Divorce Chord just released its second and final demo, “Lose Your Illusion II”.
  • Eli and Maralie (Soophie, Tem Eyos Ki) have been performing a lot lately as Humanbeast, and are tentatively recording an LP this year—more info soon!
  • Eli (Soophie, Tem Eyos Ki, Humanbeast) and Mike Taylor (Halo Perfecto, Flaws, Siren Cult) are still performing together as a noise duo called Global Credit Squeeze. Mike just moved to Miami after seven and a half years in Providence. Get those sub-tropics!
  • Nate (that’s me) has a lot of new books and artwork, and some other weird shit afoot at www.seemybrotherdance.org. Check there for comic booky news!
  • Erin Tobey (Pink Razors, Mt. Gigantic, Abe Froman) has launched a great new record label with Jeff Grant called Houseplant Records!
  • The out-of-print Red Forty discography is going to be repressed on CD and double LP (with 3 missing songs from the demo!), likely on Newscratch Records. More info on that soon!
  • Callers is getting great reception from their soul-crushing debut album on Western Vinyl. They’ll be touring to South By Southwest this March, then touring again to Europe in April!
  • Maralie (Soophie/Tem Eyos Ki/Humanbeast) and Natalja Kent (The Good Good/ Boomfancy/ Querent) are in a new band together, playing shows and all but with no solid name yet. More info soon of course!
  • Alan Short (Soophie/Deadbird) is in a ton of new Little Rock metal and punk bands these days—he’s taken over vocal duties in Seahag, and is also playing in Vulturebait (with CT from Rwake, Marcus Lowe from Il Libretina/Inkwell, and Gil from Gut Feeling)  and Zucura (with Jay from Tem Eyos Ki/Sickshine/Shitfire, and Gil). Lots of shows in the next few months!
